Aggies-Griz may have a football Snow Bowl this fall
November 9 game in Missoula will part of a nationally televised Big Sky After Dark showdown
GRAB YOUR MITTENS, YOU SILLY KITTENS ... We've known for some time now that our beloved UC Davis Aggies are scheduled to play a football game against the powerful University of Montana Grizzlies this fall, but we didn't know until today that the Football Gods have decided to make this historic showdown a night game.
The game is scheduled for Saturday, November 9, at 8:15 p.m. Mountain Standard Time, which means it will be close to midnight before all is said and done. Unless the game goes into overtime. Sunset on November 9 in Missoula is 5:08 p.m., which means there will be a great amount of time for things to get plenty cold before kickoff.
In other words, all you math whizzes out there, do you know the exact formula to determine "wind chill"?
Nowadays, of course, they do have heaters on the sidelines to keep the players warm, but unfortunately, they work only for the players who are not in the game. Once you're out on the line of scrimmage, you're on your own.
As luck would have it, this battle between two perennial challengers for the Big Sky Conference championship and all the glory that comes with it will be televised nationally by ESPN2. Millions of people will be tuning in across the country, most of them hoping it will snow, which is not exactly unusual in November in the state of Montana.
