Aggies head home to take on Texas A&M-Commerce
Both teams looking for first win after opening losses to FBS schools
Two teams looking for their first win of the young football season will square off Saturday when Texas A&M-Commerce takes on the UC Davis Aggies in a non-conference showdown.
Game time at UC Davis Health Stadium is 7 p.m.
Both teams played up a division on the road to open their seasons last weekend.
The Aggies lost to Cal, 31-13, while A&M-Commerce fell to San Diego State 45-14.
Both head coaches saw leads slip away after impressive performances by their troops in the first half.
"We felt it was a winnable game," said second-year A&M head coach Clint Dolezel, whose Lions had a 6-3 lead at the half over the heavily-favored Aztecs.
"We felt we maybe should have been ahead 14-3 or 17-3."
First-year UC Davis head coach Tim Plough also said he felt the Aggies were in a "winnable game" when they went up 13-7 on the Golden Bears before an 80-yard kickoff return gave Cal a 14-13 lead at half.
