Glad you got to visit Autzen, Bob, which is a mile from my house. In fact, based on the photo you took from the stands, you were sitting within shouting distance of me and where I'll be Saturday for the Ohio State game. Like you, I was a long-time columnist at the local newspaper—in this case, The Register-Guard — and while it does rain at Autzen Stadium occasionally, the 50-year stats show only rarely. Go Ducks! And thanks for your interesting column.
Thanks, Bob. Not only were you a long-time columnist, you were an extremely popular local columnist at what was easily one of best papers on the West Coast at the time, if not the country. I used to subscribe to the Sunday edition and it would arrive by mail on my doorstep, unable to fit in the mailbox.
I'm glad you opened the door to discuss tickets prices. You have inspired me to return home and experience a game but when I attempted to purchase a ticket they were north of $150 using the links provided from UCD. According to reporting, the head coach was handing out tickets on campus and encouraging students to attend. Can you help solve this anomaly?
Mike - I just checked the UC Davis Athletics Ticket Office site and found tickets as low as $15 or $20 for this Saturday's Cal Poly game, with a number in the $30 range.
I may be (slightly) partial, but this is my favorite article of yours to date. 😁 I am a Duck alum and I have loved hearing Don Essig’s weekly weather forecast since 1990 when we beat BYU. Thank you for adding the video bit. Not sure I have as much confidence as you this week, but go Ducks. 💚🦆💛
Was so much fun to be there. Autzen Stadium is a trip. Was thrilled they played on Friday night and Mick and I had a chance to be there. Don Essig is a complete rockstar. Go Ducks.

O H !
Wish I were there.
I purchased a single yesterday in section 124 for...$50ish? Man, Toomey was cheaper...but I used to get in for free, so what do I know?
Best seat in the house, Troy.

I didn't any that were close to $150.
I must have been redirected to a ticket broker. I didn't go to the Ticket office site. Thanks for the update! Go Aggies!
