I wonder if Members of Congress consider football skills when appointing new students to the Air Force Academy. If so, should they? When I was making college plans at age 16, I dreamed of attending there, but after reading their introductory brochure I realized that I would never pass their rigorous general athletic screening-out test (how many side-steps, chin-ups and sit-ups you could do in a minute, etc.). I would get quickly screened out, so I gave up on the idea.
