Wonderful column, Bob. Thank you for letting us know there's still time to see this play. I need to rush to get tickets which are certain to sell out quickly after everyone in town has read your column.
It runs in the families. I was delighted, once again, to witness the magic Davis High Actors bring to the stage…and thrilled, once more, that my son Chad, the director, offers so many students the opportunity to hone their talents and form lasting relationships. But this show had a kicker. I directed Erin Dunning in the very same role her daughter plays. Years ago, Erin was a spectacular Gloria in our Holmes Jr. High production. Bravo Satya!
We got our (Sunday closing performance) tickets a few weeks ago. Having thoroughly enjoyed DSHS's Drama Department's performance of "Mama Mia" and more recently the Jazz Band's "2024 Extravaganza", it seemed to me the combined talent would do well with a musical. I fully expect any requisite Orchestra members are equally talented and be represented as well. Happily, as you have reported, the pit band will be live! I'll be looking for you, Bob!
I for one. But then, I also have a large collection of Elvis' music, as well as the music of Conway Twitty.
That production sounds impressive. I'm not one for musicals, but that one I did enjoy on film/video. Too bad my weekend is scheduled, although it would be quite a commute...

A sellout on the second weekend, Diane, would be such a high tribute to these talented and hard-working kids. A truly impressive performance.

Wow.
What a beautiful story.
Good history always repeats.

“We love you Conrad, oh yes we do…”🎶
I can’t believe you don’t (or didn’t) know the plot of Bye Bye Birdie, Bob (quadruple alliteration😉)…
So glad to learn that the students performed so well in all phases of the production…high praise, indeed👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼…👍🏼
The only "Birdie" I knew growing up, Bill, was Tweety Bird

I'll buy you a ticket and save you a seat, John.
As the lawn signs say, "Davis is for Everyone."
