Fasten your seatbelts, college football season has arrived
Aggies head to Berkeley Saturday to battle the Golden Bears
COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON IS ABOUT TO EXPLODE ... Come Saturday - actually Thursday for some teams - there will be a whole lot of college football dominating our TV screens, our local stadiums and sometimes our hearts, our minds and our souls.
I'll be covering UC Davis football in person, home and away, for all 12 games of the regular season, with the hope that a deep run into the FCS playoffs might be in store for our local heroes as well.
In addition to a game story each Saturday night shortly after the battle on the field has concluded, on each Thursday before the game I'll have my world-famous "Bob's Picks,'" and on Friday there will be an in-depth preview of Saturday's game. Additionally, there will be other features during the week, including national rankings, coach quotes and Big Sky standings for all teams.
I should note that so far this season, Bob's Picks is undefeated. (Also winless.)
For non-football fans, my regular "newside" columns will continue with the same regularity you've become accustomed to since we started this adventure in May. It's an Election Year, after all, and there's so much to talk about from the tax increase on the local ballot to the presidential showdown nationwide.
My heartfelt thanks to everyone for your support and your kindness. It means more to me than you can imagine. And please feel free to regularly use the "Comments" section at the bottom of every column or contact me directly at bobdunning@thewaryone.com.
Praise will be answered immediately. Criticism will be reported to the proper authorities.
