Friday Fish Fry - Cats, Dogs, Viktor Orban, Taylor Swift and bomb threats
A quick trip to Springfield, Ohio yields some interesting truths
IT'S RAINING CATS AND DOGS IN SPRINGFIELD, OHIO ... I don't know about you, but when I hear a former President of the United States tell a national television audience about Haitian immigrants and says "They're eating dogs, the people that came in, they're eating the cats, they're eating the pets of the people that live there, and this is what's happening in our country, and it's a shame," I tend to believe him.
I mean, he didn't say "I heard this was happening" or "someone told me this was happening," or "there's a rumor this is happening." No, he said definitively, as a statement of fact, that this is happening.
Why would he say that if it wasn't true?
So, since I'm my own boss these days and don't have to clear my expense account with anyone but myself, I hopped on a non-stop red-eye from Sacramento International with parachute service to Springfield, Ohio.
And rather than talk to the natives who might have their own political take on the former president's claims, I went straight to the source.
The source, of course, being Gill's Quality Meat Market, clearly Springfield's best.
