Here's your chance to have lunch with Aggie head football coach Tim Plough
UC Davis spring football game and festivities scheduled for Saturday, April 26
ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL? Now nearly halfway through Spring Practice, the UC Davis football team has begun gearing up for its annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 26, which is a showcase for the entire Davis community to come out and enjoy.
The game, and a variety of surrounding events, are set for a 3:30 p.m. start with a special Kids Run with the team at that time. The game itself is set for 4 p.m.
The Spring Game is free of charge for all fans. There will be plenty of opportunities for everyone to win Aggie gear. Postgame, the team will host a Youth Combine and fans will be welcomed onto the field for a chance to get autographs from their favorite Aggies.
Last Saturday the Aggies held their first scrimmage of the spring. It was a chance for the team to mimic a game atmosphere while also getting officials on the field to call the game.
“A portion of the way through spring ball, I'm really pleased with the effort and energy our team has right now,” said head coach Tim Plough. “I think our strength coach, Jeff Bourque, deserves a lot of credit for what he does in the off-season with our guys.
“We're down in numbers a little bit because we graduated so many, but we do have some incoming guys who will join us in June. For now, though, the guys that are out here are getting better every day.”
Fans are encouraged to swing by and check out the Aggies anytime leading up to the Spring Game.

LUNCH WITH THE BALL COACH ... This popular luncheon meeting continues Wednesday, April 16 at Sudwerk at noon.
Aggie head coach Tim Plough hosts the informal lunch with a brief presentation followed by a question-and-answer session where anyone is free to pose a question.
Noted Plough, "This is a chance for our Davis community members and alumni to come and hear directly from me on program updates and the inner workings of what we are doing. This program has always thrived on the support of the community and I always enjoy building strong ties with the Davis community, since I myself am part of that community. I'm excited to get out to Sudwerk and meet everyone who is helping us build a special program."
In addition to meeting and talking with Plough, lunch will be served and you can have all your pressing questions answered.
I attended last month's luncheon and it was both a joyous and informative meeting.
The Aggies face a challenging 2025 schedule that includes Washington in Seattle on September 6, plus an eight-game Big Sky Conference slate that opens at home Sept. 27 against Weber State and includes a highly anticipated date at defending champion Montana State, November 15 in Bozeman.
After three straight road games to open the season, UCD's home opener is Sept. 20 against Southern Utah. Other home dates are Oct. 11 against Northern Arizona, November 1 against Idaho State and the Causeway Classic against Sacramento State on Nov. 22.
Lunches with the Ball Coach will also be held on May 21 and June 18, all at noon.
Each event costs $20 and you are asked to pre-register by emailing Senior Associate Athletic Director Josh Flushman at jeflushman@ucdavis.edu.
