Love around the power pole: PG&E wants to be our best buddy
New CEO promises chicken in every pot, cheap power in every home
Amidst all the turmoil with Elon Musk's takeover of the federal government, on a personal level, I have some exciting news.
Put simply, I have a new best friend. In high places, no less. One who can influence important policies dealing with energy and conservation and climate change and the local economy and much, much more.
She sent me a long letter in the mail this morning to express her interest in my life and opinions, and even used that powerful word "love" three times in the first paragraph alone and a whopping six times altogether.
Her name is Patti. Like Cher and Madonna and Lady Gaga, she apparently has no last name. Or maybe she just wanted to keep our relationship on a friendly first-name basis.
"I joined PG&E as CEO in 2021 because I wanted to help turn the company around and serve you better."
Wow. What a noble undertaking.
You should know, Patti, that I, too, am a CEO of The Wary One, which I joined last May to serve you better. That sort of puts us on equal footing, even if you may have a few more subscribers than I do. (My monthly rate, however, is substantially lower than yours.)
"From day one I said 'leading with love' would be key to our transformation."
That is incredibly clever, Patti. You're going to be transforming transformers. Can't get more alliterative than that.
"It may seem strange to see the word 'love' in a letter from a business leader, but I believe love and connection are essential to building a culture where people care for each other and our customers."
