To vote or not to vote, that is the question
California issues stern election rules and disses seniors in the process
Last week I used this space to warn my fellow citizens that the State of California has officially banned "Electioneering" and can quickly send you to the slammer if you engage in such activity.
At the time, I warned that there was even more we should be worried about in the upcoming election, but I wanted to give everyone time to properly digest the first warning.
Time's up.
On Page 137 of the Official Voter Information Guide comes the headline "WARNING: CORRUPTING THE VOTING PROCESS IS PROHIBITED!"
The state is allowed to use exclamation points when it's really, really serious information they're sending out.
"Violations subject to fine and/or imprisonment."
Unless, of course, you're Donald Trump, in which case the sheriff will never catch up with you. Then again, maybe Donald Trump doesn't campaign in California precisely because these warnings are so strict.
