Funny that a former Oregon women's soccer coach is now at UC Davis, while a former UC Davis women's soccer coach is now at Oregon. To complete the triangle, Graeme Abel must take over the helm at Metro State (or MSU Denver as they call themselves now).
Haha yeah, when I saw MSU Denver, I did give a double take... there's a Manhattan, Kansas and an Athens, Georgia, so is there a Denver, Michigan? Then it was "OH! That's Metro State."
I imagine older grads still call their school by its previous name. After all, I know people who refuse to refer to their alma maters as Cal State East Bay or Cal Poly Humboldt. The OG Cal State Fullerton alums must insist on telling people they graduated from Orange County State College, which is funny given that that school's archrival was once called Los Angeles-Orange County State College.
My favorites remain Indiana University of Pennsylvania and PennWest (formerly California University of Pennsylvania), which both actually were once called Indiana State and California State early in their existences.

I've heard of MSU-Billings and MSU-Bozeman, but never MSU-Denver. It's the school we used to call Metro State. You know, Superman's alma mater.
Looks like she's been successful everywhere she's been. If she can keep building on what Tracy did, look out Big West and Mountain West.

I O!
CSUN will always be San Fernando Valley State in my mind.
