As I sit in a hotel room waiting for our daughter and her family to give us the go-ahead to come over, I read this to my husband and we chucked and gave it a double "thumbs up". A couple of decades ago, I memorized the poem "A Visit From St. Nicholas" and thought to try to recite it now. I guess, if you practice a well-known poem enough, it never leaves you. Tonight, I hope to delight, our daughter and family with a performance.
I remember this well, Bob. Classic stuff, particularly to a Star Wars fan. Lois and I were living in London when the third one in the series came out, and a movie theater in central London showed all of them one right after the other. Went on about 10 hours, ending up about 1:00 in the morning. We raised the average age of the patrons by a good 10 years, but we saw them all. Had to walk home across London because the tube shut down at midnight in those days. And to all a good night… have a good one, friend.
And it took me seven years to understand your witty children's book reference, Bob, to "Tyrannosaurus Wrecks" in a column that you wrote about UCD ordering that the grandstands at Toomey Field come down. I sent you a video of the carnage in progress at the time (but unfortunately didn't save it).

That must have been quite the experience in London. My oldest son, Ted, would have loved it.
Great piece. Bob

Thanks, Bill. A fun one to remember.

That makes me very happy, Len
